Resolving Unexpected Bills
I’m here to let people know that if you are struggling with finances and have bad or no credit, there is option for borrowing money out there for you. I personally didn’t know this, so I’m going to share my story with you.
Recently my husband was hired at a new job in a new city and he starts in a few months now. As we were going through all of our statements we realized that we would have to both cancel our gym memberships. The contract states that if you cancel your membership before your two years is up you either continue paying the monthly payment of $50.00 or pay the $250 cancellation fee, so we had to come with $500 to cancel our gym memberships, how ridiculous! Moving costs a fortune on it’s own, and we were definitely not in a financial position to dish out membership fees.
There were a few options, we could continue to pay the monthly membership fee of $50 each, and pay one cancellation in the coming months when we had enough saved up, and then continue to pay the other $50 monthly fee while saving up for the other $250. Or just wait and try to save $500. I don’t know but we are both pretty busy people and things like this tend to slip our mind, so we both kind of wanted to try to get rid of it as soon as possible.
We really didn’t have any family members or friends who could help us out, and some we just didn’t feel comfortable asking for money so my only thought was the payday loan company that brother works for. We were both pretty hesitant about this and let it go for a while but after two months and $200 dollars down the drain to some gym we don’t use anymore we thought we might as well give it a try so that we don’t keep throwing our money out of the window.
Our logic was that the gym would be paid for and we could then make small payments on this pay day loan and have everything done with within a shorter period of time, and in the long run it would actually save us money even with all the added fees. I gave him call and asked him what I would need to, he directed to their website and that’s where I did everything I had to do. I didn’t even need to deal with my brother, it was pretty easy to do and we literally had our money the next morning. I was pretty happy this, I felt good about having paid off our membership fees and not wasting a $100 month on a membership that we don’t even use. Now we pay that as our minimum on our loan and will have it paid completely by next month. Thanks goodness, the sooner it’s paid off the sooner we can get to saving some money so we don’t ever have to borrow money again, knock on wood!
